Well it's finally happened. My dog has taken his last fall. It happened at about 9am this morning when he was taking walk with my dad. He was doing his thing and all the sudden he had collapsed (keep in mind he's 12 and had hip displasia). So we took him to the vet on a make-shift gurney from an old bedsheet we had. At that moment I thought "Oh my god, this may be the day we have to put him down." So we're now at the vet. So, some people lifted him onto the gurney. We got our prognosis, and they said he wasn't in pain. Now, I knew this was a bunch of bull because he was shaking and crying on the gurney in the lobby. Now the vet tells us he's active from the neck up, but paralyzed on his left side of his body. So I start sobbing, and can't stop enough said here. So my parents and I talk a while and decide it's best for him to be put down. They ask if I want to be in the room with him while he's being put to sleep. Now I'm thinking to myself "What kind of sick question is that? Of course I don't want to watch him die. I'd go nuts and ask them 'why the hell didn't you test the tumor on his belly?!'. So I'm sobbing and get out of the office and into the restroom they've got. I talked to my boyfriend and my friend for support. That's the end of this story.
